The 2nd annual YVC Soap Box Derby Fundraiser is a fun-filled event that brings together people, as individuals or teams, in a race down Park Avenue. This event happens every year during Riverboat Days, and is one of the only events where there is something fun for all ages. Racers will test their design and racing skills against their competitors, with the option to try one of the prebuilt carts, or to build their own!
For more information on building your own cart, please click here.
Every participating driver must fill out the ‘Driver’s Registration Form’, even if a ‘Team Registration Form’ has already been submitted.

The race will take place on Sunday, August 4, 2019 (rain or shine) on Park Avenue Hill by the pool.
Participants may be of any genders between the ages of 7-18 for free entry. Ages 19 and up must have a minimum donation of $10. Parents or guardian permission is required for minors to enter. Carts must be safely inspected and have an approved safety sticker applied prior to racing. Drivers are required to be at the race a minimum of 15 min prior to the race time for their category. If bringing your own cart, please allow additional time for inspection (30 min prior to race recommended).
All drivers must wear shoes/boots (no open toes) and an approved safety helmet is required for driver safety. There will be two racing carts per race. Drivers must stay in their own lanes. At the end of each category of races, the fastest two racers will race one more time, and the winner of this race will win for that category.
All pets must be leashed and controlled. No unauthorized persons are permitted on the track at any time.
If you lose control of your cart, please remain seated and waited for an attendant to assist you. There will be no ramming, bumping or crashing, intentionally. No horseplay or unsafe activity of any kind. If present, this will result in an automatic suspension from the derby. Carts requiring parts or repairs will be towed to ‘the pit’ to be attended to. Remember the event is held for the participation and enjoyment of everyone involved. Please be respectful to everyone.
Drivers will be photographed with their cart and their sponsors (if available).
