Youth - Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC)
Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) creates volunteer opportunities to address community needs and inspire youth for a lifetime of commitment to service. YVC is a network program throughout the US and Canada. It is a youth-driven program built on service learning experiences. The group participates in a service-learning project primarily focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Previous projects include:
Building planter boxes for Seniors in the community;
Hosting the YVC Soap Box Derby Fundraiser;
Face painting at Canada Day;
Organizing an Easter Egg Hunt at Heritage Park;
Sip and Swipe Program to assist seniors with iPads and Virtual Reality goggles;
Volunteering at other community events.
yvc meetings take place every tuesday from 3:45pm - 5:00pm at volunteer terrace (3235 Emerson)
